Pegah obtained her MSc degree in Atomic and Molecular Physics at the University of Zanjan and now pursues a doctoral degree at Utrecht University under the supervision of Prof. dr. Hans Gerritsen and Prof. dr. Allard Mosk (Nanophotonics).
Research : The aim of her research is to detect and trace the morphological effects, mechanical waves associated to the action potential in 3D tissue using holographic methods that intrinsically correct for aberrations. This will enable label-free high-speed tracking of the action potential, in neurons that have only minimally been perturbed.
